Product Description

Parkwood Duramax Vision Panel Composite Exterior Doors are a durable, low-maintenance exterior door option designed for New Zealand weather conditions. This product includes selected Duramax composite exterior door designs with vision panels, ideal for customers who want the strength and weather performance of Duramax with the added benefit of natural light.

Duramax doors are designed for exposed exterior locations and do not need to be sheltered. They feature a strong composite construction with high-impact fibreglass skins, solid composite resin edges, and an insulated core, making them a practical choice for front entrances, side doors, back doors, garage access doors, laundries, and other exterior entry points.

The vision panel allows natural light into the home while maintaining a clean, modern exterior look. Two double-glazed safety glass options are available: 23mm DG Parkwood Clear Low E – Toughened with Argon Gas for maximum visibility and light, or 23mm DG Parkwood Etchlite Low E – Toughened with Argon Gas for added privacy while still allowing light through.

This range is ideal for customers who want a premium, weather-resistant composite exterior door with glass.

Important Finish Note

Duramax composite doors are supplied ready to paint, or they can be professionally painted by Parkwood before delivery. Parkwood notes that Duramax doors do not have to be painted in order to be warranted, because fibreglass/resin is applied to all edges of the door. However, if the door is painted, glossy colours should be avoided as they may show a slight wave in the door surface, and Parkwood recommends Resene CoolColour for dark colours. For the best result, we recommend selecting Parkwood’s painting service when ordering a finished exterior door.

If a dark colour is selected, a heat-reflective paint system such as Resene CoolColour may be recommended to help reduce heat absorption. Glossy colours may show slight surface variation more easily, so lower-sheen exterior finishes are generally preferred.

For vision panel doors, extra care should be taken around the glass, glazing beads, edges, and lock areas to ensure the door is properly finished and maintained.

Warranty Information

Parkwood Duramax Composite Entry Doors come with a 10-year warranty, including use in fully exposed exterior conditions, subject to Parkwood’s warranty terms and correct installation, finishing, and maintenance requirements.
